Full Itinerary

Today, we embark on an exhilarating drive south of Quito, heading toward the Avenue of the Volcanos—a name bestowed by the renowned German explorer Alexander Von Humboldt during his South American explorations in the early 1800s. The scenic drive will take approximately two hours until we reach our starting point for the e-bike activity.

Along the way, we’ll make a quick stop to refresh and use the facilities before we dive into the adventure. Your guide will conduct a safety briefing and provide an introduction to the proper use of the e-bike equipment, ensuring you're fully prepared for the ride ahead.

We’ll commence our e-bike journey at an impressive 13,000 feet elevation, right in front of Cotopaxi, the highest active volcano in Ecuador, standing tall at 19,400 feet. With its snow-capped peak and iconic conical shape, Cotopaxi is a sight to behold, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes formed by the high-altitude páramo ecosystem—a unique habitat home to diverse flora and fauna. With a bit of luck, you may encounter wild horses, deer, the elusive Andean fox, and even some majestic bird species, including the Andean Condor, Ecuador's national bird. Our ride will primarily feature flat terrain with a moderate climb toward the end, covering about 25 miles on a mix of single and double tracks. You’ll experience various surfaces, including dirt, grass, and sand, all enriched by volcanic materials from Cotopaxi's last eruption. We’ll follow the water channels formed by the melting glaciers of Cotopaxi and make our way to Santo Domingo Lagoon, where you'll enjoy a different perspective of the volcano.

As we continue, we’ll visit the Inca ruins, where your guide will share insights into our pre-Hispanic history. Finally, we’ll complete our loop at Limpiopungo Lagoon, where we’ll return to the vehicle for our drive to a local restaurant. Here, you can savor a delicious homemade lunch before we make our way back to Quito.

Depending on your preference, the ride can be tailored to be slightly shorter or longer, ensuring an experience that suits your adventure style!
