San Francisco Market

Our first stop will be the vibrant San Francisco Market, where you’ll encounter the unique healing stands. Here, local curanderas (healers) offer natural remedies and advice to those seeking wellness. If you’re feeling adventurous, you might even have the chance to experience a healing session with one of these skilled practitioners. As we continue to explore the market, your guide will introduce you to a variety of fresh products from Ecuadorian farmers. Nestled in the Andes, Quito boasts an abundance of seasonal vegetables and fruits sourced from various regions. You’ll have the opportunity to taste some of the best offerings available.

Colaciones and Local Sweets

Next, we’ll stroll along the charming cobblestone streets to visit a family-run business known for its colaciones—traditional homemade candies that children used to take to school. You’ll learn about the process of making these delightful treats and, of course, have a chance to sample them!

Historical Highlights

After indulging in sweets, we’ll make our way to San Francisco Plaza, one of Quito’s oldest squares, established in 1535. Adjacent to the plaza is the beautiful San Francisco Church, where you can admire its stunning architecture and perhaps catch a glimpse of a daily service. Next, we’ll visit a local chocolate factory to discover the fascinating journey of cocoa beans and the various products made from them. This stop includes delicious tasting opportunities that you won’t want to miss!

Culinary Delights on La Ronda Street

We’ll then head to La Ronda Street, where you can savor some delectable empanadas and refreshing ice cream, perfect for a mid-morning snack.

Main Plaza of Quito

Our journey continues to the main plaza of Quito, home to the iconic cathedral, the presidential palace, and the Independence Monument. Your guide will share captivating stories about the city’s history, enriching your understanding of the vibrant culture that surrounds you.

Craft Beer Tasting

To conclude our delightful culinary adventure, we will enjoy a tasting of craft beer before returning to your hotel. Join us for a day filled with flavors, history, and unforgettable experiences in Quito!
