Itinerary

Our shortest routes give an excellent impression of this unique ‘laboratory of evolution’ in case you have little time, or if you are on a limited budget. However, you must understand that it would be impossible to see all the highlights in just a few days, although you will probably only visit the Galapagos once in a lifetime. Each island is distinctive and well worth a visit, with different landscapes and an ever-changing spectrum of adapted species.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The archipelago’s largest concentration of American flamingo in bird-rich wetlands.
  • Fur seal groats & a unique tidal channel with white-tip reef sharks & rays.
  • Flightless cormorants, large marine iguanas and penguins.

ACTIVITIES

  • Snorkeling
  • Hike
  • Kayak
  • Dinghy Ride

Itinerary

Our classic 4-night route to the southeast Galapagos Islands anchors at the most paradisiacal bays and lovely beaches. Some of these oldest islands are true crown jewels where you can become an eye-witness of evolution. Several (sub) species have had enough time to transform into emblematic figureheads, which differ from island to island. Moreover, the open water passages take 4-6 hours instead of long overnight navigations; our stable catamaran mostly floats at sheltered anchorages, which helps you get a restful sleep.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Virgin Fernandina & isolated west-coast of Isabela make you an eye-witness of evolution
  • Fur seal groats & a unique tidal channel with white-tip reef sharks & rays.
  • Flightless cormorants, largest marine iguanas and penguins near the equator.
  • The archipelago’s largest concentration of American flamingo in bird-rich wetlands.

ACTIVITIES

  • Snorkeling
  • Hike
  • Kayak
  • Dinghy Ride

Arrival

AM: Arrival San Cristobal Airport Arrival at San Cristobal Airport and transfer in. You will have to pay your Galapagos National Park entrance fee and your luggage will be inspected.

PM: Colorado Hill One thing becomes clear on your visit to the Galapagos giant tortoise breeding centre on Colorado Hill: it’s hard work to save the last local giants of San Cristobal.

Gardner Bay / Suarez Point

AM: Gardner Bay Being one of the crown jewels of Galapagos, Española gives you the exclusive opportunity to become an eyewitness of evolution.

PM: Suarez Point Española’s western tip is a true birdwatcher’s and photographer’s dream. Step into your very own exciting nature documentary, and take a short hike past colourful marine iguanas.
Day 03 - Thursday

Post Office Bay - Baroness Lookout / Cormorant Point - Champion Islet

AM: Post Office Bay - Baroness Lookout Bring your postcards and post them in the peculiar traditional barrel on this historic site that seems to be located at the end of the world. They might arrive home quicker than you!

PM: Cormorant Point - Champion Islet Please don’t expect flightless cormorants here (they live exclusively in the west). Instead, you may spot Galapagos penguins from the dinghy, or a flamingo lagoon against the pockmarked backdrop of extinct tuff cones and scented palo santo bushes.
Day 04 - Friday

Barrington Bay (Santa Fe) / El Chato Reserve

AM: Barrington Bay (Santa Fe) Santa Fe is another crown jewel of the Galapagos, where the pale Barrington land iguana and practically every other creature are unique to the Galapagos or this island alone.

PM: El Chato Reserve El Chato Reserve is a protected area and official part of the Galapagos National Park. It extends from Cerro El Chato as far down as the southwestern coast of Santa Cruz Island, where females lay their eggs.
Day 05 - Saturday

Twin Craters / Departure

AM: Twin Craters In the Highlands of Santa Cruz you have a good chance of approaching Galapagos giant tortoises in their wild, natural setting!

Transfer to Baltra Airport Assisted by the naturalist guide and some crew members, the dinghy will bring you and your luggage to Baltra, where we will take the airport shuttle. Your guide will accompany you to the check-in counters in the departure hall.

Itinerary

Our 6 night-route runs around the largest, seahorse-shaped island of Isabela, where nature seems to hunt for the greatest. Explore the virtually untouched western end of the Galapagos Islands, which has just been born out of fire. You are right on time for the first thrilling chapters of evolution! Uncover the mystery of how tough pioneer species make barren lava fields habitable; and approach bizarre outgrowths of adaptation as marine iguanas and flightless cormorants. It’s true that accessing this remote and isolated region demands longer navigation (mainly overnight), but our stable mega-catamaran enables you to witness ‘survival of the fittest’, without experiencing it.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Virgin Fernandina & isolated west-coast of Isabela make you an eye-witness of evolution.
  • Fur seal groats & unique tidal channel with white-tip reef sharks & rays.
  • Flightless cormorants, large marine iguanas and penguins near the equator (!)
